Renzo Piano: The Art of Making Buildings
The Royal Academy’s new exhibition, Renzo Piano: The Art of Making Buildings, explores the vision and innovation behind the work of Renzo Piano. Piano is the creative force behind numerous iconic landmarks, including the Shard in London, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. The exhibition follows Piano’s career, looking from the influence of his heritage to his current projects in the making. The exhibition explores how the Renzo Piano Building Workshop designs buildings “piece by piece”, making use of form, material and engineering. This is the first London exhibition in 30 years to put the spotlight on Piano, and has been designed and curated in collaboration with the architect himself.
The exhibition will run 15th September 2019 – 20th January 2019.
