Gerd Rothmann
Werkverzeichnis 2 / Catalogue Raisonné 2, 2009–2022
- The long-awaited update on Gerd Rothman’s Catalogue Raisonné I
- Every piece depicted and described, accompanied by personal notes from the artist: a must have for every jewellery collector
With his body impressions of 1976, Gerd Rothmann abruptly changed his approach to jewellery. With influences from the fine arts playing a decisive role in this, the incarnate connection between jewellery and body became his focus of attention. Following on from the 2009 Catalogue Raisonné, published with his golden nose on the cover, this Catalogue Raisonné 2 featuring hand and ring continues the entire oeuvre of this exceptional artist up to the present day. In addition to the jewellery itself, personal notes from Rothmann’s workshop and numerous images showing people in relation to the jewellery are presented. For, as the artist himself described in his notes, it is “not solely the piece of jewellery that is important but the person who lives with it and experiences it. They bestow the whole with meaning.”
