Belgium Xtra Bold

Belgium Xtra Bold is a highly original and imaginative take on Belgium, a graphic exploration and commentary on the country, its history, culture and society. Sanny Winters deconstructs elements of surrealism through the use of typography in the form of symbols, ‘truths’ and ‘little lies’; this is a wicked and highly perceptive visual journey. Having interviewed a wide selection of Flemish, Walloon and Brussels’ citizens, Winters drew 128 typographical gems, representing heroes and common people, places and iconic images, events and non-events. The outcome is unique, funny and creative; a visual ‘walk on the wild side’ of Belgian life.
