{"id":11615,"date":"2020-03-24T10:46:15","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T10:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.accartbooks.com\/us\/?page_id=11615"},"modified":"2020-04-23T14:06:18","modified_gmt":"2020-04-23T14:06:18","slug":"environmental-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.accartbooks.com\/us\/environmental-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Environmental Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"block block--banner small\" style=\"background-color:#118c76; color:#FFFFFF;\">\n    <style>\n                    <\/style>\n\n    <div class=\"block--banner__background b-lazy\" >\n        <div class=\"container--block\">\n            <div class=\"row\">\n                <div class=\"block--banner__content\">\n                                            <h1 class=\"block--banner__title\">Environmental Policy<\/h1>\n                    \n                    \n                    \n                                    <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n    <\/section>\n\n\n\n\t<section class=\"block block--basic-content\">\n\t\t<div class=\"container--block\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"block--basic-content__content\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>Environmental Policy<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>As a Company we care about our environment and we want to ensure that we do everything we can to look after the planet properly now for future generations to come.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Paper and Printers<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are proud that we have been printing our books for over 20 years on FSC certified paper.\u00a0\u00a0 The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) has undertaken remarkable work to establish a chain of custody from forest to pulp to paper so that publishers can reliably establish the true source of their papers and ensure that practices for harvesting wood are from legal, sustainable and well-managed sources and do not deplete the natural resources contained in our forests.<\/p>\n<p>All of the printers that we use have accreditation to the FSC.\u00a0 Whilst we do print overseas, we combine shipments of newly printed books not only to be cost effective but also to have less impact on the environment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Distribution and Carriers<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We take environmental issues and good practice very seriously at our distribution centres both in the UK and USA. NBN International are recipients of the BIC supply Chain Excellence Award.\u00a0\u00a0 They have their own environmental policy and do everything in their power to protect both the environment and their staff.<\/p>\n<p>All of our main carriers, DPD, DHL, UPS and FEDEX have public commitments to reduce their amounts of carbon emissions radically, you can read more about how they are achieving this on their own websites.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Paper and Cardboard Waste<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We reuse as much paper and cardboard as possible and encourage our staff not to waste paper and print out emails unnecessarily.\u00a0\u00a0 Books to be pulped, as well as cardboard and paper that can no longer be used are sent to a local paper recycling facility.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Staff<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We do everything we can to protect our staff and ensure they work in a safe environment.<\/p>\n<p>We continue to look at ways to improve and reduce the impact our business has on the environment.\u00a0 Switching off the lights at the end of the day is the very least of our efforts to help ensure we look after the planet properly.<\/p>\n\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-11615","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.0 -
