- Inner Travels is the book accompanying the exhibition of the same name, which runs at Bozar (Brussels, Belgium) from 18 February to 15 May 2022. Its publication coincides with the EUROPALIA Arts Festival
- Text in English, Dutch and French
In his internationally acclaimed work, Rinus Van de Velde (b. 1983) creates a parallel universe in which elements of reality and the imagination are fused into a unique form of visual storytelling. He takes us on a journey through his imagination, a place that transcends time and space, where all encounters are possible, and every path can be walked.
This book presents a circular narrative of departure and return, using the metaphor of a train, and offers an overview of Van de Velde’s most recent works. It enters into a dialog with the work of modern and contemporary artists such as Pierre Bonnard, Joseph Cornell, Fischli/Weiss, Joan Mitchell, Claude Monet, Monster Chetwynd, Laure Prouvost, Josephine Troller and Jean Tinguely.
