Bollhalder Walser

Based in St. Gallen and Zurich, Bollhalder Walser Architektur designs buildings developed out of an in-depth engagement with the site and the brief. Its portfolio covers a broad architectural spectrum, including challenging hospital projects, residential buildings of various sizes and the sensitive adaptation of existing buildings. The practice focuses on precise and strongly site-specific architecture, its strength lying in a carefully crafted sense of naturalness. A large proportion of its projects arise from competitions, many of them commissioned by the public sector. These include the Thurgauerstrasse school complex in Zurich and the Schlosstal psychiatric clinic in Winterthur.
