Eric Meola’s new book BENDING LIGHT on ZOOM
16 Oct 2024
Photographer Eric Meola will be showing more than 100 photographs from his career and his new book “BENDING LIGHT,” on ZOOM, in conversation with rep and consultant Frank Meo, who notes that his platform, PROJECTIONS, “ is for photographers to promote their craft with no restraints. Photographers share their work and creative vision as the audience gathers thoughtful insight into the creative process.”

Although Eric is best-known for his iconic photograph of Bruce Springsteen and Clarence Clemons on the cover of the album “Born to Run,” he is also well-known for the use of color in his editorial, advertising, and personal work. In books as diverse as “INDIA: In Word & Image” and “FIERCE BEAUTY: Storms of the Great Plains,” Eric’s use of color has received numerous awards, including “Advertising Photographer of the Year” (1986) from the American Society of Media Photographers, the “Power of the Image” George Eastman award (2014), and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Professional Photographers of America in 2023.
“BENDING LIGHT is a photographer’s remarkable, fifty year career-defining work. In short stories that collectively take the photographs to another level, Meola weaves a narrative that extends the book’s appeal to a wide audience, providing further insight into his vision of light and color.” – Sean Callahan, founding editor American Photographer
“Light and color are my subject as much as the subject itself. Telling the stories behind the photographs is my way to revisit the creative process, both as a means of introspection as well as expression. Photography has always been a way for me to create what I feel, and feel as I create.” – Eric Meola
