Formula 1 is more popular than ever. The race calendar expands every single year, with more spectators flocking to Formula 1 tracks, and more people tuning in behind their TV screens to follow every twist, every acceleration, and every overtake.
But Formula 1 is much more than what is shown on TV. Formula 1 is mechanics at work in the battle for split-seconds during a pit stop. Formula 1 is massive development departments working to find the key to success. Formula 1 is a commercial circus that entertains and impresses.
In this book, one of the most experienced figures in the Formula 1 caravan, reporter and photographer Peter Nygaard, takes readers behind the scenes. Nygaard has covered almost two-thirds of the Formula 1 Grand Prix races that have been held since Formula 1’s inception in 1950. Through his camera lens and conversations with some of the most central figures, he tells the stories of the greatest drivers, the wildest dramas, and the continuous evolution of Formula 1.
Hear from some of the biggest figures who, from inside the car, the pit lane, or around the track, have experienced everything that makes Formula 1 what it is today.
The interest in Formula 1 is greater than ever. With new races, more car manufacturers, and sold-out grandstands, the pinnacle of motorsport, with speeds of 300 km/h, has established itself as one of the world’s most popular sporting events. But Formula 1 is a complex sport. In addition to highly trained super-athletes like Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, it’s about advanced technology, intricate regulations, and at times, an almost unbelievable history filled with plenty of racing and intrigue over 75 years. The payoff for spectators and TV viewers increases with their knowledge of the sport.
This book is aimed at the millions of new fans who have been fascinated by Formula 1 in recent years. At the same time, experienced Formula 1 enthusiasts will gain new knowledge, and the book will provide children, young people, and adults with plenty of moments of epiphany about the world’s fastest (and most expensive!) sport.
The Formula 1 World Championship celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025. The sport’s rich history is full of great drivers, spectacular cars and exciting races. But there is also a myriad of weird and wonderful behind-the-scenes stories never or rarely told. This book is a look at the alternative Formula 1 history. Read about: The driver who knocked down his team principal; A suicide attempt during practice; The jazz band which produced two F1 drivers; A team sponsored by pop superstars Abba; How the World Champion was kidnapped… and how a F1 car killed a cyclist and a motorcycle rider on a public road. These and many more crazy and fascinating stories are covered in The Alternative History of F1.
Author Peter Nygaard has attended more than 700 F1 races since 1974 and written many books about motor racing.

Guía Domingo: Tacos Monterrey is the fourth volume of a project born to celebrate one of Mexico’s most powerful shared rituals: tacos. In a city shaped by fire, work, and character, taco culture takes on a distinct identity—direct, generous, and deeply rooted in tradition.
This volume explores Monterrey through its taquerías: places defined by mastery of the grill, respect for the tortilla, and a relentless pursuit of flavor. Each selection reflects not trends, but substance—legacy spots, new voices, and tacos that speak clearly of where they come from.
Built through careful research and close collaboration with the city’s taco community, this book lives at the intersection of food, photography, design, and culture. More than a guide, Guía Domingo: Tacos Monterrey is a record of how Monterrey eats, gathers, and expresses itself—one taco at a time.

These three volumes describe and illustrate the trilogy of projects that Craig Hamilton has designed at Old Parkland, Dallas, an office campus developed by Crow Holdings. The architecture and sculpture, together with the spaces between buildings, aim to create a working environment inspired by the humanist ideas of the Renaissance. Hamilton’s work there comprises an office building and a bell tower or Campanile on the existing West Campus, together with the entirely new East Campus which occupies a complete city block and comprises of extensive new office accommodation, an orangery restaurant and a small theater. All three projects are rich in architectural and sculptural symbolism.
Hamilton’s understanding and deep respect for both the wider western and American classical traditions of architecture have been a source of inspiration for the work that has been undertaken at Old Parkland.
The volumes include over 150 hand drawings by Craig Hamilton; sketches, models and sculpture by Professor Alexander Stoddart, Sculptor in Ordinary to HM The King in Scotland; photography by Paul Highnam; words by Clive Aslet, visiting professor of Architecture at the University of Cambridge.
Born at the height of the country’s centennial celebration, Mary Louise Curtis was raised by industrious New Englanders who created Ladies’ Home Journal and built it into the most widely read magazine in America. Aside from immense wealth, Mary’s parents bestowed upon their only child a sophisticated understanding of music that would lead to her hands-on involvement in the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia and the founding of the world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music in 1924. A strong advocate of practical philanthropy, Mary worked tirelessly to ensure that her school’s mission was fulfilled. She cultivated a vast network of musical connections and provided opportunities to her students for sustained success. Among the many musicians whose careers she fostered were George Antheil, Rose Bampton, Samuel Barber, and Gian Carlo Menotti. Through author Barbara Benedett’s exhaustive research, this notable American philanthropist finally emerges from the shadows, and her immeasurable generosity, business acumen, and vision are fully acknowledged.
This catalog accompanies the exhibition Art & Fashion in the Calouste Gulbenkian museum, and highlights the inseparable relationship between art and fashion: art finds a constant source of inspiration in fashion, while fashion finds permanence and memory in art. Both disciplines engage in a dialog around beauty, both ephemeral and eternal, as an invisible thread between past and present.
The extraordinary Gulbenkian Collection, with pieces from Ancient Egypt to the 20th century, allows for a unique encounter between masterpieces of painting and decorative arts and iconic haute couture creations. It is not a question of comparison, but of establishing visual and symbolic conversations: contemporary silhouettes alongside Renaissance folds, exquisite embroidery juxtaposed with modernist flashes, ancient iconography reinterpreted.
The book captures that moment when the museum is transformed into a living space where art and fashion face each other, reminding us that beauty knows no boundaries, only the passage of time.
Rising near the baths of Diocletian, where Imperial Rome once proclaimed its power, the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome stands as a different but no less enduring monument to Italian genius. Inaugurated in 1880 as the Teatro Costanzi, it was born at a pivotal hour – when a newly unified Italy sought not only political coherence but a shared cultural soul. Within its crimson and golden interiors, that soul found one of its most resounding expressions. Here Puccini’s Tosca premiered in 1900, at a time when the theater became both witness and protagonist of modernity – surviving war, regime, and reinvention – while safeguarding a repertoire that binds Italy to the wider world. To enter its auditorium is to step into a continuum: ancient stone outside, velvet and light within, and above all the breath of singers transforming silence into shared memory. This is a stunning volume, enriched by glorious photography, that honors and uplifts one of the most important opera houses in the world.

Step into the world of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, beauty, and desire – later worshiped by the Romans as Venus. Today she is thought of as a symbol of passion and beauty, but her story is far older and more complex. This catalogue explores Aphrodite’s beginnings on the island of Cyprus, where she was worshiped as an all-powerful goddess over 3,000 years ago, and traces her journey through the Greek and into the Roman world, where she became Venus.
This book reveals how, over the centuries, Aphrodite evolved into an iconic figure symbolizing love and beauty as her myths and images flourished – inspiring art, literature, and imagination from the Renaissance to the present day. Illustrated with more than 200 extraordinary objects – from sculpture and bronzes to gems and terracottas from Cyprus, Greece, and Italy, dating back from around 1400 BCE to the 21st century – this catalogue uncovers the making of a goddess whose legacy still shapes our ideas of love and beauty today.
“I tasted a wine with respect, I was moved… and almost without realizing it, I was already writing this book. Throughout my career as an Italian Master Sommelier, I have found great satisfaction, but this experience is a gift I keep in my heart.
From that spark, an unexpected journey was born. It led me to Fabio Cordella’s project, The Wine of the Champions, and allowed me to meet legendary figures such as Ronaldinho, Seba Frey, Júlio César, Amauri, Iván Zamorano, Ciro Ferrara, Vincent Candela, Samuel Eto’o, Marek Jankulovski, and Giorgio Petrosyan. As well as many new friends.
Between shared glasses and authentic bonds, I tell a story defined by passion and sacrifice. This book is dedicated to those who dream without excuses; starting from the bottom and climbing to the top has been a true privilege. After all, careers eventually end—but wine, friendships, and stories linger.”
