About the Author

The architectural education at Kunming University of Science and Technology began in 1983. The Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning was established in 2013. It is one of the earliest universities in western China to offer architectural education. It is also the earliest in Yunnan Province to pass the national assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate education in "Architecture" and "Urban Planning", and has the right to confer doctoral degrees in Architecture and a provincial-level postdoctoral research station. The Contemporary Gallery Kunming is based on the historical context of Yunnan, connects with the geographical relationship of Southeast Asia, and through objectively sorting out the interaction between contemporary art in Yunnan, China, and the world, presents the thinking and practice of art in regional and historical contexts. It has become a contemporary art museum emphasizing cultural diversity and urban nature.
