From as early as 1962, the NASA Art Program commissioned artists to capture the importance of their work by giving them unprecedented access to on-site life at NASA, from the technicians at work and the suiting-up of astronauts, to the launch sites. Originally created for educational purposes, the artworks also include incredible, stylized posters portraying humans’ ambitions far beyond our planet, among them astronauts working on the moon, space shuttles and far away planets.
