Hotspot Leipzig – Drents Museum, The Netherlands
15 Nov — 5 Apr 2026
Visit the Hotspot Leipzig – Highlights from the Collection exhibition starting November 15th. See more than fifty works by the Neue Leipziger Schule.
Leipzig is a hotspot for visual arts. Countless artists live and work in the city. Their materials, styles, and themes differ, but what unites them is their background: the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (University of Applied Sciences and Art), one of Germany’s oldest art academies. Figurative art and craftsmanship are central to its work.
The Hotspot Leipzig exhibition shows paintings, works on paper and sculptures from the Neue Leipziger Schule. Characteristic of their work is the combination of figurative and abstract elements. View work by Neo Rauch, Hartwig Ebersbach, Ulrich Hachulla, Christine Ebersbach, Rosa Loy, Ulf Puder, Aris Kalaizis, Matthias Ludwig, David Schnell, Christoph Ruckhäberle, Tilo Baumgärtel, Katrin Brause, Martin Kobe, Matthias Weischer, Isabelle Dutoit, Mirjam Völker, Corinne von Lebusa, Malte Masemann, Undine Bandelin, Johannes Rochhausen, Kristina Schuldt, Robert Seidel, Laura Eckert, Titus Schade, Stefan Schwarzer, Johannes Daniel, Dorothee Liebscher, Denis Hahn, Gustav Sonntag, Henriette Grahnert and Sebastian Gögel.
In our exhibition Microcosm – The World in a Wunderkammer, you can already see works by other artists from the Neue Leipziger Schule: Tino Geiss, Matthias Garff, and Dana Meyer.
