To celebrate its 50th anniversary, private bank CBH Compagnie Bancaire Helvétique, in partnership with the Musée d’art et d’histoire de Genève, is presenting its collection of modern and contemporary African art at the Musée Rath.

The fruit of an ongoing commitment to artistic creation, the “More than meets the eye” exhibition brings together nearly 80 artists from sub-Saharan Africa who lived part of their lives there, covering almost a century of production (1929-2024). Paintings, sculptures, photographs: the works reveal an expressive force, blending traditions, modern aesthetics and contemporary issues.

Through this singular journey, scenographed by interior architect and designer Pierre Yovanovitch, Africa asserts itself as a major player on the world art scene.
