Legacy & Lenses: In Conversation with Normski

Join us this Black History Month to celebrate black culture and legacies with Normski – photographer, broadcaster and all-round icon.

Bursting onto the scene in the 1980s, Normski captured the spirit of Black British music, fashion and street style, before becoming a household name on TV and radio. Always in the middle of the action, he has spent his career both behind and in front of the lens, bringing energy, humour and flair everywhere he goes.
In this fireside chat, Normski will dive into his journey as an artist and storyteller, unpacking themes of representation, identity and the cultural power of the lens. The conversation will be followed by an open Q&A and a chance to celebrate and connect with creatives across music, fashion, media and beyond.
Throughout the evening, a curated selection of photographs from the Iconic Images archive will be on display, bringing the gallery alive as a space for culture, dialogue and celebration.

Tickets available here with £5 of the ticket price redeemable against any purchase made in the gallery.

Copies of Normski’s bestselling book “Man with the Golden Shutter” will be available for purchase and signing on the night.

Tuesday October 28, 6:30 – 8:30pm
Iconic Images Gallery – Piccadilly, 16 Waterloo Place, London, SW1Y 4AR
