La Manufacture Cogolin, a weaver of hand-made rugs established in 1924 in a village near Saint-Tropez, is rich with a traditional craftsmanship particularly sought out by a clientele looking for authenticity and quality. Acquired by the visionary textile engineer Jean Lauer in 1928, La Manufacture Cogolin has grown remarkably from the 1930s onward, thanks to early collaborations with well-known designers such as Jules Leleu, Christian Bérard, Jean-Michel Frank, Sir David Hicks and artists such as Jean Cocteau.
This fully illustrated art book dives into what has made the Cogolin house special for a century. Mixing unpublished archives (letters, photographs, watercolours), lively texts suited to a wide audience, and testimonies from women working in the historical workshop, from contemporaries, and from illustrious customers.
Following a chronological approach, this book describes the manufacture’s economic history, shedding light on its rebirth in the 21st century, while placing it in the history of the Decorative Arts of the 19th and 20th centuries, and describes the key elements of this recognised French craftsmanship.
Horticulture has been a core subject for photographer Marina Schinz throughout her career. This found expression in her previous books, Visions of Paradise, The Gardens of Russell Page, and A Tuscan Paradise. Visiting and photographing countless gardens around the world made her engage in gardening herself and culminated in major garden design projects for her houses, first in Westchester County (New York), then in the Hudson Valley (New York), and finally near Piacenza in Italy.
In Green Thoughts and Memories, Schinz looks back at her gardening adventures, interweaving horticultural observations with memoirs of her childhood in Zurich. Entertaining and engaging at the same time, full of practical considerations, and rendered with humour and philosophy, the book offers an unconventional appreciation of garden art. It conveys basic knowledge to put budding gardeners and rank beginners on the road to plant a mere tree or start an entire garden. In 12 chapters, it explores all the elements of gardening, such as weather, soil, labour, planning, flowers, shrubs, etc.
Richly illustrated in full colour throughout with Schinz’s own photographs of famous as well as unknown gardens around the world, this beautiful volume will appeal to anyone with a love of plants and gardens or with a desire to create a personal paradise.
“This is a celebration of slow interiors that evolve over time, rather than interiors designed and meticulous, using just the latest fads.” — Enki Magazine
“…full of ideas for anyone who wants to foster a slower pace of life at home—especially in the kitchen. The cooking zones featured in its pages aren’t your typical modern farmhouse kitchens with subway tile–clad backsplashes and industrial pendant lights. There’s a sense of effortlessness behind each one.” — Domino

Peter Ivens is a buzzing and respected name in interior design. The Belgian interior architect is praised for his talent, his timeless style and impeccable realisations. His designs often come about in close collaboration with his partner in crime Bea Mombaers. The two of them have been working together intensively for over a decade, without really dividing their roles in the classic way, blurring the lines between architecture and decoration. For Ivens each house tells its own personal story. ‘Custom-made’ is a core value in his oeuvre: he tailors each home to the specific needs and personality of its residents. No bells and whistles, no loud, showy signature, but silent luxury stemming from a special, sophisticated choice of materials and a unique sense of space. Ivens’ portfolio is prestigious and diverse, yet his style is recognisable. This beautiful coffee-table book, in which each chapter is dedicated to a different house, is the perfect proof. Except for a brief introduction by design journalist Sisse Bro, the photos by Eefje De Coninck and Senne Van der Ven do all the talking, showcasing Ivens’ universe in the most classy and inspiring way.

‘Ridgers’ portraits of young boys and girls are weighted with a raw poetry and beauty’ – Cory Reynolds, artbook.com

The classic account of traditional Micronesian navigation and “the last navigator,” Mau Piailug, who fought to preserve it.
For thousands of years, the peoples of Oceania have sailed unerringly across the Pacific without compass or charts, guided only by natural signs—stars, waves, and the flight paths of birds. In search of this secret knowledge, a young sailor, Steve Thomas, travelled to the tiny island of Satawal in Micronesia, home to Mau Piailug, one of the few surviving paliuw, or navigators. In The Last Navigator, Thomas tells how he convinced Piailug to accept him as his student and teach him the closely guarded Talk of Navigation. It is a remarkable book, offering at once a clear and precise account of Micronesian way-finding and the moving story of one man trying to preserve his culture against the tide of modernity.
Now, 40 years after his original journey to study under Mau Piailug, Thomas has worked with a new generation of researchers, including natives of Satawal, to prepare this revised edition of The Last Navigator. All Satawalese words are rendered in the now-accepted orthography, and the islanders, originally identified by pseudonyms, appear under their true names. And throughout, Thomas has added a generous selection of colour photographs from his time on Satawal. The result is a lasting tribute to the spirit of the Satawalese, and to the Talk of Navigation.

In this follow up to Storied Interiors (2018), interior designer Patrick Sutton presents seven beautiful and unique residences. Taking a deep dive into Sutton’s distinctive approach, acclaimed author Vicky Lowry tells the story of each home and how listening to his clients has inherently shaped the design.
The seven homes, located in Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Wyoming, run the gamut from a crisply furnished, minimalist countryside retreat and a classic yet contemporary seaside estate, to a historic house given new life with striking furnishings and seductive colours, and a property in Jackson Hole with a pared-down aesthetic rather than the typical trappings of the American West. While Sutton’s objectives for every project might be similar—discovering the ‘story’ to help him craft a design that is influenced by the location, history, and his clients—he is adept at working in a variety of styles, with an approach that remains fluid and open-minded.
Each project in Tailored Interiors is illustrated with gorgeous photography and accompanied by a narrative about the client, their aspirations, and Sutton’s compassionate approach to the design. It is through vision and empathy that Sutton creates such rich, meaningful, and liveable interiors and helps his clients achieve their dreams.
The British architect Tony Fretton has long been renowned for a refined, minimalist language with its own distinctive vocabulary. His award-winning projects combine innovation with a deep understanding of place, culture and community. The practice first gained international recognition with the Lisson Gallery (1990) as well as the Red House in London (2001). Other well-known works include Two Apartments in Groningen (2001), the Fuglsang Art Museum in Lolland (2008), Anish Kapoor’s house in London (2008) or the British Embassy in Warsaw (2009).
The two volumes of this definitive monograph cover four decades of work by Tony Fretton Architects. The first volume, Buildings, comprises a text by Christoph Grafe while in the second volume, Projects, essays by Benjamin Machin, Mark Pimlott and Irina Davidovici contextualise the oeuvre. The elegant and restrained graphic design of the publication reflects Fretton’s rational, unembellished style.
The separate volume Photographs (978-3-03761-384-9) acts as a companion to this monograph, presenting a selection of Fretton’s photographs between 2010 and 2025.

Almost as old as the kingdom in which it was born, Neuhaus is much more than just a name. It embodies an essential part of Belgium’s gastronomic heritage; a promise of pleasure and excellence. A patented supplier to the Court of Belgium, Neuhaus is above all the inventor of the Belgian praline, the melt in the mouth bite that revolutionised the world of chocolate in 1912 and left its mark on the country’s gastronomic history.
This book is a fascinating journey into the world of Neuhaus. It retraces the central role played by Neuhaus in the great cocoa odyssey, but above all it sheds light on the men and women who bring this gourmet brand to life every day. Behind each iconic praline, there are craftsmen with precise gestures, experts who ensure the quality of the beans and raw materials, and passionate shop teams who enthusiastically pass on the history and flavours of Neuhaus. Far from resting on its laurels, Neuhaus continues to innovate, multiplying its collaborations and exploring new creative avenues. Antoine Melis’ breathtaking images plunge us into the heart of the matter, revealing the sensuality of the chocolate, the brilliance of the ganaches and the finesse of the textures that make up the magic of the house. To conclude this immersion, the book offers some 20 exclusive recipes, enabling chocolate lovers to recreate some of this enchantment at home

Travel today is fast, comfortable, and accessible to many. But between the 17th and early 19th centuries, it was a privilege reserved for the elite. Young British aristocrats would embark on a Grand Tour as the final stage of their education. Italy was the highlight of this cultural journey, with visits to Rome, Florence, Venice, and Mount Vesuvius. Along the way, they admired art and architecture, forged connections, and refined their taste – often returning home with artworks and souvenirs to adorn their country estates.
It wasn’t just young men who travelled; entire families journeyed across Europe in grand entourages. What inspired them to set out, which routes did they take, and what treasures did they bring back?
This book explores those journeys and presents a remarkable selection of artworks brought home from three of England’s finest stately homes: Holkham Hall, Burghley House, and Woburn Abbey.
“Tindall’s voice is richly her own: tender but unsentimental and lit by intimate knowledge of her chosen world.” – Colin Thubron
Culminating a distinguished career spanning more than 60 years, historian Gillian Tindall has written a novel as her final statement. In an astonishing feat of literary imagination, she projects herself back onto one of her forebears to conjure a compelling vision of 17th century England.
By trade, the main character is a metal founder, an occupation that leads him from the villages of Sussex to the bell foundry in Spitalfields.
This is a hymn to those who pass through life not leaving a trace, except in the hearts of those into whose lives they have been cast.

“Tashiding is one of the oldest and most venerated monasteries in the historic Himalyan Kingdom of Sikkim. Loosely translated, the word means ‘a very auspicious place.’ We appropriated the name for our auspicious place” – Douglas & Tsongie Hamilton
Tashiding: Beyond Earth and Sky presents a sumptuous portrait of a 100-acre rural landscape and stunning residence, in Maryland, USA, developed in connection with the land and the environment. Stunning photographs and the book’s elegant design take readers on an exquisite visual tour of the property and its development, including the origins and culture of its owners—Douglas Hamilton former president and chairman of The Walters Museum in Maryland and Tsognie Wangmo, the eldest child of the last king of Sikkim, shortly before the Himalayan royal kingdom was taken over by India. This is the poignant and inspirational story of the origins and creation of Tashiding, which was developed by Douglas and Tsognie without plans, a design on paper, or a professional landscape architect or garden designer, personify their intuitive sensibility and innate knowledge—approaches that every gardener can use, and every designer will appreciate.
Tashiding showcases the joining of two distinct cultures, and how their Western and Eastern backgrounds are manifest in the landscapes, garden themes, sculpture, ornament, and the house’s interiors. Everyone who has visited Tashiding is moved by the experiential sensation of the landscape’s different places. In developing Tashiding’s four-seasons gardens, Douglas and Tsognie envisioned an environment that invites a sense of harmony and well-being—part arboretum, part park, and part Xanadu. It is a garden for both walking and quiet contemplation, for feeling the thrill of the wind on a cool March day or for sitting in the tea house on a rainy afternoon, watching the wind form abstract ripples on the surface of the lake. Collecting and arranging the extraordinary quantity of rocks, boulders, trees and shrubs, they see their hands in all they did. Yet as the years have passed, each tree and plant grows in its own unique way, knitting together to form a new and perhaps more naturalistic landscape.
The new building for the City of Zurich Police’s criminal investigation branch, completed in 2021, was a house of art before it became a house of the police. For Other Voices, Other Rooms, an extraordinary art-and-architecture project, curator Adam Szymczyk invited international artists to engage with the building’s architecture and institutional context. The resulting works by Ross Birrell (Scotland, UK), Banu Cennetoğlu (Turkey), Zehra Doğan (Kurdistan, Turkey), David Harding (Scotland, UK), Hiwa K (Germany, born in Kurdistan, Turkey), and Daniel Knorr (Germany, born in Romania) were on public display in the building in 2021, before the police moved in.
Only David Harding’s contribution has remained as a permanent and publicly accessible artwork, a text installation that is now embedded in the concrete floor outside the building’s main entrance. However, the entire process of the project was documented by Zurich-based photographer Melanie Hofmann. A selection of her shots is also permanently connected to the building in the shape of screen prints on interior walls. They bear witness to its past life and preserve the spaces of thought created by art.
Through images and texts, this lavishly designed book offers insights into a unique art project that responds to the challenges and potential of art and building in a way that is as consistent as it is productive.
