Each card features a single emblem from Camerarius’s book: an allegorical engraving—beautifully hand-tinted in watercolour by Aftel—together with a motto and a couplet illuminating the moral of the engraving. In a companion guidebook, Aftel explores the layered meanings of each emblem, combining her own insights with the ancient wisdom compiled by Camerarius.
