An Evening Honoring the Official Centenary Book at Genesis House, New York
New York, NY – ACC Art Books proudly celebrated the publication of Marilyn Monroe 100, the only official book created in partnership with the Marilyn Monroe Estate, with an exclusive launch event at Genesis House in New York City.
Hosted by James Smith, CEO and Publisher of ACC Art Books, the evening welcomed members of the media, industry professionals, digital creators, and special guests for an intimate celebration of Marilyn Monroe’s enduring legacy. James Smith opened the event with a heartfelt toast, recognizing the extraordinary collaboration behind the landmark publication and the significance of Monroe’s centenary year.
Guests enjoyed cocktails, wine, and a selection of light bites before gathering for a special conversation featuring Melissa Stevens, representing the Sam Shaw Archives, and Rachel Syme of The New Yorker curating the conversation. The evening was also attended by Dana Carpenter, Vice President of Entertainment at Authentic Brands Group (ABG), one of the distinguished guests celebrating the release. Together, they reflected on Monroe’s remarkable cultural influence, the photographers who shaped her public image, and the importance of preserving her legacy for new generations.
Following the reception, attendees were invited to experience Manifesting Marilyn: The Making of an Icon, Genesis House’s immersive exhibition exploring Marilyn Monroe beyond the Hollywood legend. Through archival photography, multimedia installations, and a recreation of Monroe’s personal library, the exhibition offered a thoughtful portrait of Marilyn as an ambitious artist, avid reader, entrepreneur, and visionary who carefully shaped her own legacy.
The evening celebrated the release of Marilyn Monroe 100, the official centenary publication produced in collaboration with the Marilyn Monroe Estate. This beautifully produced volume brings together the work of seventeen of the photographers who documented Monroe’s life and career, alongside her own words and essays from leading cultural commentators, offering the most comprehensive photographic tribute published for the 100th anniversary of her birth.
