Fiechter & Salzmann

In the tradition of Miroslav Šik, Hans Kollhoff and Max Dudler, the Zurich-based practice of Caroline Fiechter and René Salzmann primarily carries out conversion and extension projects in urban contexts. Whether classic residential buildings, public facilities or smaller projects such as the lakeside restaurant in Uster, their atmospherically dense spaces are attractive living environments that transcend fleeting fashions. For example, their extension to the Mösli kindergarten and day school in Ostermundigen was awarded the Best Architects 2026 prize for its sustainability.
