    Full Description

This volume is dedicated to Francesco Clemente (Naples, 1952), one of the leading figures in contemporary Italian and international art. Featuring 70 works—including rarely exhibited pieces, previously unseen works, and new paintings—it explores his artistic practice from the late 1970s to the present day.

Running throughout the exhibition is the idea of the in-between: a state of existing between worlds and dimensions, a recurring presence that lies at the heart of Clemente’s work. A sense of transformation permeates the artist’s imagery, unfolding through a continuous dialogue between the inner and outer worlds.

Clemente’s art reflects a cosmopolitan and experimental approach, moving freely between Western and Eastern cultures and traditions. His images explore themes of identity and the human condition—the self, the body, sexuality, spirituality, myth, and dreamlike landscapes—through a practice that resists a linear path, instead unfolding across multiple directions, media, and visual languages.

    Text in English and Italian.
