Full Description
This monograph is devoted to Joël Faivre-Chalon (1953–2020), French creator of contemporary jewellery. Trained in Strasbourg and subsequently based in Montpellier, Joël Faivre-Chalon never viewed jewellery as mere ornament: his pieces are the fruit of patient research conducted into form (which, in his hands, tends to be pared down), technique, and materials. His work can be imagined in two broad phases: the first devoted to experiments with colour, followed by a second focused on studying volume, drawing on innovative materials such as titanium, slate, laminate, or carbon fibre.
