    Full Description

MILLIØNS is a Los Angeles- and Beirut-based experimental architecture and design practice, founded in 2012 by John May and Zeina Koreitem. Their approach insists on an expansive parallel project of technical, historical and cultural analysis, which surrounds and informs their work. Their diverse body of work spans across scales, materials, and media formats—from buildings, interiors, exhibitions, and furniture, to software experiments, aphorisms, and essays.

May and Koreitem conceive architecture as a speculative medium to explore and reimagine a contemporary world immersed in an endless feed of “socialised” images, compressed by globalisation, and racing to orient itself around new climate realities. Navigating the present requires new concepts, new techniques, new imaginaries, and a thoroughly experimental approach towards what it means to practice architecture.

MILLIØNS: Under Present Conditions documents the first decade of MILLIØNS’ work. Part monograph, part manifesto, it gathers an enormous range of projects and texts for the first time in single volume that is lavishly illustrated with some 800 colour images. This extruded magazine-like volume juxtaposes MILLIØNS’ design work with theoretical essays on unstable but unavoidable contemporary conditions.
