    About the Author

    Dr. Husam Haj Omar is a Lecturer in Arabic Language at the University of Oxford, specialising in Arabic linguistics, translation, political discourse, and cultural studies. His research explores how language, narrative, and heritage intersect in the Arab world, with a focus on how cultural expression reflects social and historical change. He holds a PhD in Translation Studies from the University of Leeds and has contributed to numerous academic and public projects on Arab art, discourse, and media. Dr. Haj Omar has a particular interest in Arabic media studies and the role of media in shaping political and cultural identities. His work is informed by a deep appreciation for the richness of Arab cultures and a commitment to cross-cultural understanding. He collaborates widely across the Middle East, including the Gulf region, examining how tradition and modernity shape narratives. He frequently writes and speaks on ideology, discourse, cultural preservation, and narratives.
