    Full Description

In Serene Interiors, American designer Brenda Burdette explores how thoughtful design can transform a home into a peaceful, restorative sanctuary. Drawing on her own experience of creating a haven during the upheaval of the pandemic, Burdette shares practical insights into the elements that bring calm and balance to everyday spaces. From colour, texture and natural materials to proportion, simplicity and the art of negative space, this beautifully photographed book reveals how serene interiors can support the way we live, work, rest and reconnect.

Burdette’s approach embraces both quiet, neutral spaces and interiors enriched with saturated colour, showing that tranquillity is less about what you use than how you use it.

Alongside her refined California interiors, the book showcases 12 international designers whose distinctive work demonstrates the universal appeal of peaceful, soulful spaces. Serene Interiors offers inspiration and practical guidance for creating a home that feels calm, personal and restorative.

    About the Author

Brenda Burdette is a former television news anchor/reporter/writer and producer who spent nearly 17 years chasing hard news stories in cities across the country (her favourite was San Francisco where she worked at the NBC and ABC stations). When she left the news world, Brenda immersed herself in Interior Architecture & Design courses, yoga, healing, art, and raising her two children as a way to erase the harshness of what she had seen in her career and create a more peaceful life. Brenda has combined her love of research/writing with her never-ending quest for discovering inspiring design, art, & architecture. She travels the world looking for the most beautiful design-related travel spots – all the while connecting with healers, poets & artists along the way.
