    About the Author

    As an influential figure in the museum world, Cécile Debray is a French museum curator, art historian, and exhibition curator, widely recognised as a leading specialist in modern and contemporary painting. Former director of the Musée de l’Orangerie, she has served as president of the Musée national Picasso-Paris since 2021. Throughout her career, she has worked with numerous major French art institutions, including the Centre Pompidou, the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, and the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. A distinguished expert on the work of Wassily Kandinsky, Robert Delaunay, and Pablo Picasso, she has also curated several major international exhibitions. She contributes regularly to numerous books and exhibition catalogues.
