Full Description
Cornel Brudaşcu (b. 1937) is one of the most important representatives of the neo-avant-garde in Romania. In his home country, the painter repeatedly faced political repression and persecution on account of his sexuality. Although his artworks have long had a significant influence on the Romanian art scene, it is only in the last 15 years that his work has become known to a wider audience. Brudaşcu began his artistic career in the 1970s with Pop Art, but later focused on various facets of the male nude.
Text in English and Romanian.
