Typhaine Le Monnier – Playtime

Cristina Filipe (b. 1965) is an artist, researcher, educator, cultural programmer and curator with a PhD in Art and Heritage from the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa in Porto. She was awarded a Susan Beech Grant by Art Jewelry Forum in 2017. She is currently collaborating researcher at the Centre for Research in Science and Technology of the Arts (CITAR) at the Catholic University of Porto — School of Arts.

Doreen Timmers was brought up in the village of Mariaheide, in the Netherlands, where nowadays her gallery is situated. She was named after her grandmother Door. Opened in 2017, Galerie Door showcases international art jewellery by artists whose works invoke a sense of wonder through their craftsmanship, materials, and subject matter. The name of the gallery thus has a double meaning; it represents her own name and (in English) hints at the door to the world of marvel and wonder called art. 

Julia Wild teaches jewellery history and theory as well as cultural studies at the Idar-Oberstein campus of Trier University of Applied Sciences, Department of Design (Gemstones and Jewellery).
